Finnish youth struggle to enter, not stay in, workforce
A new study reveals the primary challenge for young people in the Finnish workforce isn't leaving due to stress, but entering it in the first place. This creates a divide among young workers. The study, conducted by Ilmarinen, found that while the rate of young people under 35 receiving disability pensions for mental health reasons hasn't increased, applications from those outside or on the fringes of employment have. Depression is the most common cause. Experts emphasize the need for better workplace introductions and feedback for young employees. Ilmarinen recommends employers recognize the diverse needs of young workers and provide support to ensure a secure start to their careers.
