Final season of 'The Handmaid’s Tale' introduces cliffhangers
The popular series "The Handmaid's Tale" is nearing its end, but fans might be left with more questions than answers. The show's sixth season promises to have cliffhangers that lead into a new spinoff titled "The Testaments." Yahlin Chang, the showrunner, mentioned that while certain plots will be resolved, not everything will conclude neatly. Chang assured fans that the ending will be satisfying, but will also leave room for the new storyline in "The Testaments." He believes fans who want more will find it in the upcoming series. The spinoff is based on Margaret Atwood's novel and is set 15 years after the events of "The Handmaid's Tale." The story will follow characters like Aunt Lydia, who is expected to have a redemption moment. Other characters, Agnes and Daisy, will secretly work to uncover the secrets of the oppressive regime in Gilead. They will use disguises, posing as "Pearl Girls," to gather information in Canada. Atwood, the author of the original book, has expressed interest in exploring how regimes like Gilead eventually collapse. She plans to include new outfits for the characters, emphasizing how clothing can convey identity. "The Handmaid's Tale" will return with its new season on April 8, and episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu.
