Fence angers Welsh villagers, blocking road access
A Welsh village is in uproar after a £40,000, 2.1-meter-high steel fence was erected, blocking access to a road and sparking outrage. Locals have dubbed it the "Great Wall of Clydach." The fence was installed due to safety concerns following a rockfall, with the council citing the potential for further collapses. Residents, however, are furious, arguing the fence is unsightly and unnecessary, especially given the cost. Despite the council's safety justifications, some residents, including a former councillor, have criticized the fence's aesthetics and potential for accidents. The council plans to work with the community to find a better solution.
