Federal agencies to cancel hundreds of office leases
The General Services Administration, in collaboration with Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency, plans to cancel hundreds of federal office leases this year. Notifications have been sent to landlords regarding these terminations. Cancellations are set to occur in phases, with some leases ending as early as June 30. Affected agencies include the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service in Boise, Idaho, and the Internal Revenue Service in Hilo, Hawaii. Additional cancellations are scheduled for August 31 and September 30, impacting various offices across the country. Agencies must decide whether to negotiate new leases or relocate.
