A study from The University of Texas at El Paso suggests that adding small amounts of liquid soap to certain pesticides can increase their potency by over ten-fold, offering a promising solution to combat malaria-carrying mosquitoes' resistance to insecticides. In 2020, there were an estimated 241 million cases of malaria worldwide, resulting in 627,000 deaths. The research, supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health, aims to develop a soap-insecticide formulation for indoor use in Africa.
