Farm in Herefordshire pivots to sustainable drinks production with rapid growth

independent.co.uk

The Layton family has transformed their Herefordshire cattle farm into a sustainable drinks company, Foreva Farmers, producing tonic water and other fizzy drinks. This shift aims to compete with major brands like Schweppes and Fever Tree. Using anaerobic digestion, the farm generates renewable energy and captures CO2 for carbonating their drinks. They have already reached a production rate of 7,000 cans per hour, with plans to increase to 33,000 cans per hour by mid-2025. Since launching in September, Foreva Farmers has seen rapid growth, achieving over 100% month-on-month sales increases. Their products are now available in over 40 shops, including a major farm shop at Gloucester M5 service station.
