Family files legal claims after woman's beach death
A family in Santa Monica is seeking justice after a tragic accident on the beach. Sherese Allen, 34, was lying on the sand when she was run over by an SUV last October. The driver, 22-year-old Yuyung Sun, has been arrested for driving under the influence. He is currently out on bail. Sherese's family wants accountability for her death. "Part of justice, for us, is to prevent this from happening again," her father, Antron Allen, said. They don't want anyone else to experience such a loss. Sherese moved to Santa Monica seven years ago to chase her dreams in modeling and acting. Her mother, Eugenia Tate, shared that Sherese felt she had finally found her home. “She had a future, she had so many goals,” said her younger sister, Shayne Allen. The family has taken legal action by filing claims against the city of Santa Monica and Los Angeles County. This is the first step toward potential lawsuits against both parties.
