Family ends protest after CM meeting invitation

In Patiala, the family of Colonel Pushpinder Singh has ended their protest after receiving an invitation from Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The family, including Colonel Singh's son Angad, had been protesting outside the deputy commissioner's office since March 14. They were allegedly attacked by twelve police officers over a parking dispute. During the protest, the family demanded the arrest of the officers involved, a CBI investigation, and the transfer of the local police chief, SSP Nanak Singh. The situation began when Colonel Singh and his son were at a roadside eatery in Patiala. Colonel Singh’s wife, Jasvinder Bath, expressed hope for justice following the CM's invitation. She stated, “We will request a CBI inquiry into the matter and the transfer of Patiala SSP.” She emphasized that their protest was not about creating conflict but rather standing up against injustice. Another family member, Gurtej Dhillon, highlighted that their fight represents a broader issue regarding police misuse of power. “Demanding justice against police brutality is the democratic right of every citizen,” he said, promising to continue their pursuit of justice.
