Exclusive restaurant reservations in Japan become increasingly difficult to secure
Getting a reservation at top restaurants in Japan is extremely difficult, especially in Tokyo. Many exclusive venues have very few seats and serve limited meals each day. Working with a broker is often necessary to secure a table. Sukiyabashi Jiro, famous from the documentary "Jiro Dreams of Sushi," no longer accepts public reservations, requiring bookings through concierges. Sushisho Saito has also stopped public reservations, offering a unique dining experience at a small hinoki counter. Mibu, known as Japan's most exclusive restaurant, has only eight seats and a changing monthly menu. Matsukawa requires an invitation to book, with reservations needing to be made three months in advance.
