Every iPhone model supporting iOS 18 can update to iOS 19 while some iPads miss out
Every iPhone model that currently supports iOS 18 will also be able to update to iOS 19. This includes older models like the iPhone XS and XR, released in 2018. However, some iPads will not receive the update. The iPad (7th generation) and second-generation iPad Pro will not be able to update to iPadOS 19, raising the minimum processor requirement to the A12 chip. Other iPad models will continue to receive updates. iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 are expected to be previewed in June 2025, with a public release around September 2025. Details on new features are still unclear, and some features for iOS 18 have yet to be released.
