Elmo celebrates 3-and-a-half birthday again on Sesame Street
Elmo, the popular Sesame Street character, celebrated his birthday on February 3, turning 3-and-a-half years old again. This unique age was chosen to resonate with children who often celebrate half-birthdays, according to Sesame Workshop. Elmo's friends and the official Sesame Street account shared birthday wishes on social media. While Elmo was introduced in 1980, his age remains fixed, similar to other characters like Big Bird, who turns 6-and-a-half each year. Sesame Street continues to reach over 150 million children worldwide, with more than 150 versions of the show produced in 70 languages. The show has won 227 Emmys, making it the most awarded television series.
