Egypt raises gasoline, diesel prices; citizens feel impact

Gasoline and diesel prices in Egypt have been updated, with increases taking effect on Sunday, June 22, 2025. These changes impact the cost of living for Egyptian citizens. The price of 95-octane gasoline is now 19 Egyptian pounds per liter, 92-octane is 17.25 pounds, and 80-octane is 15.75 pounds. Diesel is priced at 15.50 pounds per liter, and household gas cylinders have also increased in price. These price adjustments are part of the government's plan to reduce the budget deficit and decrease subsidies, with further gradual increases expected through the end of 2025.
