Duterte's arrest seen as justice for EJK victims

The ML party-list emphasized the importance of accountability, stating that those who supported Duterte's violent campaign should also face consequences. They highlighted former senator Leila de Lima's long-standing opposition to Duterte's drug war and her recent acquittal from related charges. Human rights lawyer Chel Diokno welcomed the arrest, urging immediate cooperation with the International Criminal Court. He noted that Duterte's past actions have led to significant scrutiny and called for protection for witnesses and victims' families amid ongoing threats.
