Duterte siblings travel to The Hague after father's arrest
Vice President Sara Duterte and her brother, Rep. Paolo Duterte, flew to the Netherlands on Wednesday, shortly after their father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, was arrested and transferred to The Hague for an ICC trial. Sara left Manila at 7:40 a.m., while Paolo departed at 5:45 a.m. Sara was denied entry to see her father before his departure. She stated she would meet with his lawyers in the Netherlands to discuss next steps. She condemned her father's arrest, calling it an affront to Philippine sovereignty. Paolo Duterte received clearance for a month-long personal trip to the Netherlands and Japan, unrelated to his father's case. Meanwhile, discussions about Sara's potential impeachment have emerged, linked to allegations of her involvement in extrajudicial killings during her time as Davao City mayor.
