Duterte returns to Philippines for medical check-up
Former President Rodrigo Duterte returned to the Philippines on Tuesday after a brief trip to Hong Kong. He arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport with his partner and daughter, amid tight security and the presence of police officials. Duterte is scheduled for a medical check-up at Cardinal hospital. Senator Bong Go confirmed that Duterte will undergo a procedure following his arrival. Duterte's return comes amid rumors of an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court related to his controversial drug war. He stated he is prepared to address any legal issues directly and dismissed claims he traveled to evade arrest.
