Duterte returns to Manila amid international legal concerns
Former President Rodrigo Duterte returned to Manila from Hong Kong on Tuesday morning. His flight landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport around 10:30 am. Duterte is in the news due to reports of an International Criminal Police Organization red notice against him. He faces a case at the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity linked to his administration's war on drugs. The war on drugs reportedly resulted in at least 6,000 deaths, with human rights groups estimating the number could be as high as 20,000. The Philippine government has not commented on the red notice.
