Duterte imprisoned in The Hague for ICC trial
Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has been transferred to the Scheveningen Prison in The Hague, where he will await trial by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged crimes against humanity related to his war on drugs. Duterte arrived in the Netherlands after being arrested in the Philippines on an ICC warrant. He is accused of creating and funding death squads responsible for numerous killings during his presidency. Supporters gathered outside the prison to express their support. Vice President Sara Duterte plans to travel to The Hague to meet with her father and his legal team. She expressed gratitude for the support received from Filipinos during this time.
