Duterte arrives in The Hague after his arrest
Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte arrived in The Hague late Wednesday after his arrest. His chartered plane landed at 11:55 p.m. Philippine time, following a stop in Dubai. Duterte faces an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity linked to his administration's drug war. The Philippines had previously withdrawn from the Rome Statute but is now cooperating with Interpol regarding the warrant. The drug war is reported to have resulted in over 6,000 deaths, with human rights groups estimating the toll to be more than 20,000.
