Duterte arrested to face ICC charges in The Hague

Former Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has been arrested and is being flown to The Hague to face charges of crimes against humanity. Duterte was detained upon returning to Manila from Hong Kong, following an ICC warrant related to his controversial anti-drug campaign. The ICC has been investigating mass killings during his presidency, with estimates of the death toll ranging from over 6,000 to 30,000. Despite Duterte's protests and attempts by his family and lawyers to intervene, he was taken into custody.
