Drew Barrymore shares experience of being ghosted
Drew Barrymore recently shared her experience of being ghosted after a date. On her talk show, she recounted how she texted a man she had seen. They exchanged messages briefly, but his last reply was just “Ha,” and since then, she hasn't heard back from him. Barrymore, 50, expressed her confusion about why people ghost others, saying, “It doesn’t cross my mind to behave like that.” Her friends on the show, Valerie Bertinelli and Ross Mathews, chimed in with humor. Bertinelli joked about not leading someone on if you’re not interested, while Mathews suggested that a longer “Ha” could mean a more positive sign. She emphasized that getting ghosted happens to everyone, even those who are kind. Barrymore mentioned how she and her friend discussed the meaning behind the man's last text, considering how many "a's" he used. Despite the uncertain dating world, she stated that she doesn’t want to waste time on people who aren’t genuinely interested. Barrymore, who shares two daughters with her ex-husband, is open to dating but also values her independence. She described the stability she finds in her work and spending time with her children. She expressed a desire for someone who can inspire her, stating, “I cannot go backwards.” Reflecting on her life at 50, she noted that she is now genuinely happy. Barrymore emphasized the importance of choosing happiness daily, acknowledging that her past experiences have helped her grow and appreciate the present.
