Two scuba divers encountered a great white shark near Hubbards, Nova Scotia. The shark approached them closely in the water. The divers, John Brooks and Eric Peterson, were on a guided dive when the approximately three-meter-long shark appeared. They remained calm and the encounter lasted only a few minutes. Great white shark sightings have become more common in Nova Scotia in recent years, according to a shark researcher. This is the ninth diver encounter in the Maritimes in three years.
