Differences between MQM and PSP will lessen over time

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), discussed the recent merger with the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) during an interview. He acknowledged the past hostility between the two groups but believes differences will lessen over time. Siddiqui noted that party members have varied opinions about leadership decisions, including the appointment of Mustafa Kamal as a federal minister. He clarified that he was not informed about this decision beforehand and had submitted different names for cabinet positions. He emphasized that the MQM-P remains a significant political force, holding 22 National Assembly seats. Siddiqui also stated that the Rabita Committee is currently suspended due to investigations but has not been dissolved. He reaffirmed that MQM-P is the only recognized faction of the party.
