Diamond Aircraft Industries, founded in 1981 as Hoffmann Flugzeugbau in Austria, has become a major player in general aviation. In the 1990s, the company rebranded to Diamond Aircraft and expanded into North America. It introduced successful models like the DA40 and DA42, which have seen significant production numbers.
