Dexter's villain escaped for the first time

Dexter: Resurrection has broken a 19-year series trend by allowing a major villain to escape Dexter's pursuit. In episode 8, Dexter failed to capture and kill Al, a foe who successfully evaded him by leaving the city. This marks the first time a primary target has completely escaped Dexter's grasp. While Dexter has previously pursued targets out of state, Al's escape leaves him at large, potentially for future seasons, unlike past instances where Dexter ultimately found and eliminated his quarry.
