Deutsche Bahn will simplify booking international train tickets

Starting this fall, booking international train tickets across Europe will become significantly easier, mirroring the simplicity of air travel. The Deutsche Bahn (DB) will integrate with a new technical interface. This integration will allow DB customers to purchase tickets for major European railways directly through bahn.de and the DB Navigator app by the end of 2026. The new system uses the OSDM standard, enabling a unified booking process and access to a wider range of international routes. This initiative aims to streamline the currently fragmented system, addressing issues like multiple tickets for cross-border journeys. The EU is also working on a similar initiative, potentially creating a single platform for booking and passenger rights across Europe.
