Delhi's MCD seeks bids to revamp Naini Lake

Delhi's Municipal Corporation (MCD) has issued bids for a consultancy to revamp Naini Lake, two years after the project's initial approval. The project, part of the Amrit Sarovar Mission, aims to rejuvenate the lake by utilizing treated wastewater and reducing groundwater consumption for irrigation. The ₹10 crore project was announced in June 2022 but faced delays due to the non-formation of a key committee. The consultancy will design infrastructure, including pipelines and pumping stations, and oversee the lake's beautification with new plants, walkways, and fountains, with an estimated completion time of five months after work begins.
