Delhi Police arrest gangster using fake model profile

A gangster named Manoj was arrested by Delhi Police after an officer caught him using a fake social media profile. The officer posed as a glamorous model from Mumbai to lure him. Manoj agreed to meet in South Delhi, where police were waiting to arrest him. Manoj is a life convict and a repeat parole-jumper. He is linked to the Gogi gang and has been wanted for various serious offenses, including murder and armed robbery. His associate, Deepak, is involved in a high-profile murder case inside Tihar Jail. Police had a specialized team that knew Manoj was active on social media. They created the fake account and engaged in conversations with him over several weeks. Once they gained his trust, they arranged a meeting in the Safdarjung Enclave area. When Manoj arrived, police detained him. They discovered two weapons and eight live cartridges in his possession. Manoj originally came from Mahendergarh in Haryana and moved to Delhi in the 1990s. His criminal activities began in 2005 when he kidnapped and killed a businessman over a ransom dispute. He was convicted in 2013 and sentenced to life. While imprisoned, he became involved with the Gogi gang and continued to orchestrate crimes even from jail. Manoj was granted paroles in 2014 and 2023 but did not return to prison both times. He committed several crimes while on the run and was later released in December 2024 after misleading authorities about his background.
