Work has begun to improve the Tangri River in Ambala. This project aims to prevent flooding that has caused major problems in the past. The river floods each monsoon season when heavy rains in nearby areas increase its water levels. The project will deepen the riverbed by six feet. Haryana energy minister Anil Vij, who is also a local BJP MLA, mentioned that this will help many residents in nearby communities. The changes will allow water to flow better during the rainy season. As part of the project, the sand taken from the river will be used in the Ambala ring road project by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). The embankment of the river will also be strengthened and raised, with a budget of ₹ 2.67 crores. An agreement has been signed among the irrigation department, NHAI, and the Ambala Sadar municipal council for this work. Vij emphasized that these improvements will provide better protection for residents in surrounding areas from flood damage.
