DC's "Lanterns" explores Green Lantern Corps in Nebraska

The upcoming DC series "Lanterns" is creating excitement among fans. While no official release date has been announced, it is expected to debut on HBO and stream on Max in early 2026. The show stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. Hal is an experienced Green Lantern nearing retirement, while John is a new recruit who he is training. The cast also includes Kelly Macdonald as Sheriff Kerry, Ulrich Thomsen as the villain Sinestro, and several others in supporting roles. "Lanterns" will be based on the "Green Lantern" comics. It follows John and Hal as they investigate a murder in Nebraska. Their investigation uncovers dark and dangerous secrets. In February, James Gunn shared a first look at the series. The image features Hal and John ready for action, with Hal's Green Lantern ring visible on his hand. The series will consist of eight episodes, but there is currently no trailer available.
