Dallas' East Village to see new mixed-use development The Central
De La Vega Capital Development is launching a new project called The Central in Dallas' East Village, aiming to revitalize the area and compete with Uptown. The 27-acre site will feature a pedestrian-friendly park and restaurants. Previously, the site was home to the "Leaning Tower of Dallas," a partially demolished building that gained internet fame before its removal in 2020. The new development will include 2,000 multifamily units, office space, and retail. Construction began in fall 2024, with the first restaurants expected to open by summer 2025. The project has received support from local residents, marking a shift from past development proposals that faced community backlash.
