Cybercrime group steals data via fake Chrome downloads

The "You She" cybercrime group is actively distributing malware disguised as a Chrome browser download, leading to the theft of sensitive user data. The group's malicious software has infected over 127,000 devices. The attackers use SEO to promote fake Chrome download sites that closely resemble the official website. Once users download and install the malicious package, a remote access trojan (RAT) is installed, allowing attackers to control the device and steal data. Daily infections reached over 17,000. The National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team of China (CNCERT) has issued warnings and provided recommendations for users to protect themselves, including downloading software from official sources and practicing strong password security.
