Crunchyroll Anime Awards set for May 2025 in Tokyo with new categories and expanded eligibility

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards will return to Tokyo on May 25, 2025, marking its ninth annual event. The ceremony will be held at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa and will be livestreamed for global audiences. New categories have been added, including Best Isekai, Best Background Art, and Best Hindi Voice Artist. The eligibility period for nominees has also expanded to include anime released from October 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024. Nominations will be announced on April 3, 2025, with fan voting starting the same day. The event will feature celebrity presenters and performances, continuing its tradition of celebrating contributions to Japanese animation.
