Constable murders two over wife's suspected infidelity

In Kakori, a police constable named Mahendra Kumar was arrested for murdering a man he suspected was the father of his wife's unborn child. Mahendra became suspicious of his wife, Ankita, after overhearing her phone calls with Manoj, leading to a deadly confrontation. On March 21, 2025, police discovered the bodies of Manoj Lodhi and his friend Rohit, both with their throats slit. Following an investigation, authorities arrested Mahendra and Ankita two days later, revealing their involvement in the crime. Authorities report that Mahendra planned the attack at a bridge, convincing Ankita to invite Manoj without mentioning his violent intentions. When Manoj and Rohit arrived, they were ambushed and killed with sickles. Police are also looking for three other accomplices involved in the crime.
