Conor McGregor ordered to pay 1.5 million euros in legal costs after losing civil rape trial
Conor McGregor has been ordered by a Dublin court to pay 1.5 million euros in legal costs after losing a civil rape trial. This amount is in addition to the 248,603 euros in damages awarded to the victim, Nikita Hand. The jury found that McGregor assaulted Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018. McGregor claimed their encounter was consensual. He plans to appeal the verdict. The trial lasted 12 days, and the court ruled that McGregor must cover all legal expenses. Hand also lost a separate assault lawsuit against another man.
