Conan O'Brien shares Oscar hosting plans and edits

Conan O’Brien revealed that his original plan for the Oscars included a four-minute spoof video featuring him in various films, including "Wicked." This was replaced by a tribute to Los Angeles, leading into a performance by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. O’Brien also discussed a sandworm from "Dune" that was initially meant to have more screen time. The idea was scaled back, and the sandworm ended up appearing in the orchestra instead of having lines. Some comedic ideas were rejected by the Academy, including a promo where O’Brien and a large Oscar statuette acted as a couple. The Academy insisted that the Oscar could not be shown in a horizontal position or dressed.
