tagesspiegel.de (German)

A Canadian company announced a significant oil and gas discovery off the Polish Baltic coast, visible from the German island of Usedom. Central European Petroleum (CEP) estimates the recoverable reserves at 200 million barrels of oil equivalent, potentially the largest find in Poland since World War II. The Wolin East field is located near Swinoujscie, with production possibly starting in three to four years. The find could supply 4-5% of Poland's annual oil needs for several years. CEP has held an exploration license since 2017, with the drilling rigs visible from the German coast.
