Commerce Secretary endorses buying Tesla stock investment
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick publicly recommended that Americans buy Tesla stock during a Fox News interview on Wednesday. He expressed disbelief at the current low price of the shares, implying that investors may not see such a bargain again. Lutnick, who has a significant background in finance, was previously the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, where he built considerable wealth. He mentioned that his firm, Cantor Fitzgerald, recently upgraded its rating for Tesla stock, believing it is now a good entry point despite recent declines. Tesla's stock has dropped about 35% this year, partly due to controversy surrounding Elon Musk. Protests against Musk and his policies have intensified. These protests have led to vandalism of Tesla vehicles and properties across the U.S., as well as negative projections for first-quarter sales. In response to these issues, some Republican leaders have voiced their support for Musk. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that authorities are investigating the protest-related attacks on Tesla, aiming to hold those responsible accountable. President Donald Trump also weighed in, supporting Tesla and promoting the purchase of their vehicles. He showcased Teslas at a White House event, emphasizing his endorsement of the company.
