Coleen Nolan's brother diagnosed with prostate cancer
Coleen Nolan is heartbroken after her brother Brian, aged 69, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. This news came just days after their sister Linda's memorial service. Linda passed away at 65 from double pneumonia. She was the second sister to face cancer, following Bernie Nolan's death from breast cancer in 2013. Their older sister Anne has also battled breast cancer. Coleen, who stars on the show Loose Women, expressed her feelings of being "numb and angry" upon hearing of Brian's diagnosis. Despite the shock, Brian remains optimistic about his treatment. He was recently told by doctors that they can treat and potentially cure his cancer. He shared that it was hard to hear he had cancer, likening it to being hit by a train. Brian and the family are using humor and support to cope with this challenge. He revealed that he had kept his diagnosis to himself to avoid adding to the family's grief over Linda. "I thought I was doing the right thing," he explained. Now, Brian wants to raise awareness about prostate cancer, as many men may not know the signs and symptoms. He plans to advocate for annual PSA test reminders for men over 50. "What has happened to me has made me quite angry," he said, as he wishes he had known more about prostate health earlier in life. He hopes sharing his story will help others.
