Clop ransomware gang claims mass hack of 66 companies using Cleo Software vulnerability
The Clop ransomware gang has claimed responsibility for hacking at least 66 companies by exploiting a vulnerability in Cleo Software's file transfer tools. They have listed partial names of the affected companies on their dark web site. Clop plans to release the full names of the hacked companies soon, likely to pressure them into paying a ransom. This incident marks another significant breach by Clop, which has previously targeted similar file transfer tools. In the past, Clop has successfully hacked hundreds of companies using vulnerabilities in other file transfer systems like Accellion, GoAnywhere, and MOVEit.
