Cleveland State advances to CBI championship game
Cleveland State defeated Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) 72-65 in the semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) on Tuesday night. This win takes Cleveland State to the championship game. Je'Shawn Stevenson was a standout player for Cleveland State, scoring 17 points. He made 4 out of 9 shots, including just 1 out of 4 from three-point range. He also made all his free throws, going 8 for 8. Tahj Staveskie also made significant contributions with 16 points. He shot 5 for 10 from the field and was perfect from the free-throw line, making 6 out of 6. Staveskie added six rebounds and three steals to his performance. For FGCU, Jevin Muniz led the team with 16 points, along with four assists and two steals. Michael Duax supported with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Tristen Guillouette contributed 12 points and nine rebounds. Cleveland State is set to face Illinois State in the championship game on Wednesday.
