Cities: Skylines 2 developer cites hardware limitations for ongoing console release delay
Colossal Order, the developer of Cities: Skylines 2, has announced that it cannot provide a console release date due to "hardware limitations" affecting performance on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. The game was initially set to launch on consoles alongside the PC version last October. The studio has faced significant challenges, including simulation and graphics issues that lead to performance drops. Although they have made the game stable on consoles by lowering graphics quality, they aim to improve this before releasing the console version. As a result, the console release remains indefinitely delayed. Colossal Order is exploring solutions with experts to address these issues, while a PC patch is scheduled for November 26, promising various gameplay improvements.
