Chubut joins Milei's "dólar colchón" plan

Chubut became the first Patagonian province to join the "dólar colchón" initiative, a measure proposed by President Javier Milei. The province's governor, Ignacio Torres, signed the agreement. The "dólar colchón" plan aims to increase the information demanded by ARCA, the tax collection agency. Catamarca, Tucumán, and Entre Ríos have also agreed to the measure, with more provinces expected to join in the coming weeks. The initiative seeks to implement a new simplified income tax regime. Some provinces, like Buenos Aires and Tierra del Fuego, oppose the measure, citing concerns about its legality and the need for congressional approval.
