Chinese display makers invest in OLED technology for smartphones and tablets

Chinese display panel makers are focusing on organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology, which is increasingly used in smartphones, tablets, and laptops. BOE Technology Group is expanding its OLED production, including a new line in Chengdu for high-end touch screens. Market research indicates that OLED panels will dominate smartphone displays, reaching nearly 60% penetration by 2025. The global display industry is projected to generate $114.3 billion in revenue, with OLED accounting for $43.3 billion. TCL China Star Optoelectronics has begun mass production of inkjet printing OLED technology, promising better quality and efficiency. Other companies, like Visionox Technology, are also enhancing their OLED capabilities, as China aims to lead global OLED production by 2025.
