China, Russia, and Iran to hold naval exercise

China, Russia, and Iran will conduct a joint naval exercise called "Security Belt-2025" in the Gulf of Oman. The drills will take place near the Iranian port of Chabahar and will focus on simulated attacks and search and rescue operations. The Chinese defense ministry stated that the exercise aims to enhance military cooperation among the three nations. The task force includes the guided-missile frigate Honghe and two helicopters, which have been patrolling the Gulf of Aden since December. Last year's exercise, held from March 11 to 15, focused on anti-piracy and rescue operations, including armed rescues of hijacked vessels. The upcoming drills will expand on these themes with new scenarios.
