China regulates facial recognition, online stores, preschool education
Starting June 1, 2025, new regulations will impact daily life, including stricter rules for facial recognition technology and new guidelines for online stores. The new "Facial Recognition Technology Application Security Management Measures" will limit the use of facial recognition, prohibiting its exclusive use when other methods exist and preventing coercion. Additionally, new rules for online stores and the implementation of the first preschool education law are also set to take effect. Other changes include regulations for the catering industry, artificial intelligence in weather services, and supply chain finance. Furthermore, citizens from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay can visit China visa-free for up to 30 days.
