China implements unified land plan, optimizing development

The national "multi-planning integration" land and space planning system has been basically formed, with provincial, municipal, and county-level plans largely approved and entering the implementation phase. This will optimize land development and protection. The Ministry of Natural Resources announced the completion of the "multi-planning integration" system after seven years of effort. This system, based on the National Land and Space Planning Outline (2021-2035), aims to optimize land use and protect resources, including the designation of farmland and ecological protection zones. The new version of the "Urban Physical Examination Assessment Procedures" will be implemented, focusing on improving urban livability and resilience. This includes evaluating "15-minute community life circles" and integrating planning with land policies to promote urban renewal and rural-urban integration.
