Chimney sweep apprenticeships in Germany reached a record high

The number of apprentices in the chimney sweep trade reached a record high last year, with a 29% increase compared to the previous year. A total of 796 apprentices began their training nationwide, exceeding the average of 650 needed annually to offset demographic changes, according to the Federal Association of Chimney Sweeps. The industry aims to position itself in the area of energy transition. The chimney sweep trade is also seeking to become a key contact for climate-friendly heating systems and is advocating for comprehensive documentation of all heating types in Germany.
