Chiefs sign kicker Matthew Wright after Spencer Shrader placed on IR
The Kansas City Chiefs have signed kicker Matthew Wright after Spencer Shrader was placed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. This follows the placement of starter Harrison Butker on IR for a meniscus trim. Wright has previously played for several NFL teams and recently performed well with the Chiefs, hitting 4-of-5 field goals in a game against the Las Vegas Raiders. He will now kick for the Chiefs in their upcoming game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chiefs, currently leading the AFC with an 11-1 record, are dealing with multiple injuries, including to running back Isiah Pacheco and defensive end Charles Omenihu. Butker is eligible to return after this week's game.
