Chicago steakhouse GT Prime to close on New Year's Eve

GT Prime, a well-known Chicago steakhouse, will close permanently on New Year's Eve. The closure follows chef-partner Giuseppe Tentori's decision to leave the restaurant, which he opened with the Boka Restaurant Group eight years ago. Tentori's departure marks the end of an 18-year collaboration with Boka. The group expressed gratitude for his contributions and confirmed plans to open a new restaurant concept in the GT Prime space in summer 2025. Additionally, Boka announced a new pizzeria called Zarella, set to debut in River North in 2025. This pizzeria will occupy the former location of GT Fish & Oyster, created by chefs Chris Pandel and Lee Wolen.
