Chennai to host cultural event celebrating Tamil Nadu's tribal and scheduled caste heritage

Chennai will host a two-day event, Aadhi Kalaikil, on December 1 and 2, celebrating the cultural heritage of scheduled castes and tribes in Tamil Nadu. The event will feature performances, art displays, and discussions led by SC/ST community members. Highlights include a "wall of history" showcasing significant milestones like the Poona Pact and the reservation system. Visitors can explore an art gallery with over 800 folk instruments and traditional costumes, along with interactive workshops on pottery and instrument crafting. Eminent writers and musicians will participate, and there will be demonstrations of traditional martial arts. The event aims to raise awareness of SC/ST art forms and promote the preservation of their cultural history.
